A big city can look like a concrete jungle. The roads downtown are congested at rush hour. The more cars come into the centre, the more traffic there is. Last winter it was hard for me to get around at that time. I walked past a construction site every day and came down with a cold. The dusty air made my skin itchy, so I stayed home for two days. After that, I wanted a clean and safe way to go to school. Now our city has a new metro, and I take it every morning. It is clean, and it is fast. The more students use it, the more space we have on the road. The city also has public amenities near the stations, such as parks. After class I often hang out with my friends in a park. The food at the stalls near the park is pricey, but the stalls keep good hygiene. A city can be liveable if we keep it clean. The cleaner the streets are, the more students walk there.
