Learning to Stand on Her Own Feet
253 từ7 câu hỏi
When Nga left her hometown to study in Da Nang, she had never cooked a full meal or managed her own money. It was the first month in a rented room that taught her how much independence really requires. At first, she often spent her whole allowance in two weeks and ate instant noodles for dinner. It was her best friend who suggested that she should develop money-management skills, such as recording every expense in a notebook. Following this advice, Nga set a monthly budget and managed to save a little each week. She also got into the habit of making a timetable, which helped her deal with deadlines and avoid last-minute stress. Time-management skills proved just as valuable as money-management skills, especially during exam season. Cooking was another challenge, but she learned by watching videos and practising with a simple rice cooker. Within three months, she could prepare healthy dishes that cost less than eating out. It was not her results alone that made her proud, but also the confidence she gained from solving problems by herself. Educators say that learners who are self-motivated and set clear learning goals achieve more in the long run. Nga now uses online courses to carry out her own self-study, combining them with lessons at university. She admits that decision-making skills are still the hardest to improve, but she no longer asks others to choose for her. In her words, becoming independent does not mean doing everything alone; it means taking responsibility for your own choices.
