Dear Ms Hanh, I am writing to tell you about the ASEAN Youth Camp that I attended in Hue last month, thanks to the scholarship you recommended. Taking part in this camp was an eye-opening experience, because I met sixty young volunteers from all ten ASEAN countries. On the first day, we discussed current issues in the region, such as protecting the environment and reducing youth unemployment. Listening to students from other countries helped me understand how different their lives are, although we share many problems. In the afternoon, a representative of the Viet Nam ASEAN committee explained how the organisation promotes cultural exchange and strengthens cooperation. Building leadership skills was another goal of the camp. My team had to propose a project in only two hours, and I was chosen to present our ideas because I had spoken in public before. Our proposal was a live-stream concert in which young musicians from different countries would perform folk songs. Judges praised us for working together so smoothly, and we won second prize. The best moment came on the final evening, when every team shared traditional food, and I tried several dishes that I had never tasted before. Since returning home, I have begun planning a small celebration for ASEAN Day at our school. Organising such an event is not easy, but I believe that learning about our neighbours is important for our future. Could you please support us by speaking to the principal?
