A National Park for Wildlife
253 từ7 câu hỏi
Cuc Phuong National Park, located about one hundred kilometres from Ha Noi, is home to thousands of species of plants and animals. Its tropical forest forms a complex ecosystem in which every living thing depends on the others. Green plants capture sunlight and produce food, insects and small mammals eat the plants, and larger predators complete the food chain. If one link in this chain disappears, the whole system can lose its balance. That is why conservation experts pay close attention to endangered species such as the pangolin, which hunters have almost wiped out. Rescue workers at the park care for injured animals and, when possible, release them back into their natural habitat. Wildlife researchers also use camera traps to count the animals that live deep in the forest, without disturbing them. Biodiversity is not only a scientific idea; it also supports local people, who gather medicinal plants and earn money from guiding visitors. However, illegal logging and the spread of farmland still threaten the native flora and fauna. To reduce the damage, rangers patrol the forest every day, and schools nearby teach children why natural resources must be protected. Visitors can also help by following simple rules: stay on the path, take rubbish home, and never feed wild animals. Scientists warn that losing a single species may seem unimportant at first, yet it can affect many others in ways that are hard to predict. Protecting a national park is therefore not a luxury, but an investment in the future of our planet.
