The Night the Storm Came
165 từ5 câu hỏi
Last August a strong storm came to our town in the evening. While we were having dinner, the wind was suddenly very strong. My father was watching the news when the authorities warned our family to stay at home. My mother was looking for our emergency kit while I was helping my sister. Outside, the wind was loud, and the rain was hard on our roof. Then the lights went out, and the house trembled. We were in the kitchen when a big tree fell on a neighbour's roof. Our family was fine, but the storm did damage to many properties. The next morning rescue workers were helping families near the river. Some victims were staying in the school hall with food and blankets. Next door, the storm destroyed a garden and a fence. We helped the family clean it after school. No one can predict every disaster, but a good emergency kit can help. Now our family keeps an emergency kit near the door.
